Stitch Together: Knitting
📍 Rogers Public Library — 711 S Dixieland Rd, Rogers, AR, USA
Begin a four part knitting series with a beginner friendly session designed for adults and teens. Learn the fundamentals, including how to hold needles and yarn, how to start a project by casting on, and how to use the long tail cast on method. By the end, participants should be able to cast on to begin any project. This session focuses only on casting on and will not introduce additional stitches. Yarn, knitting needles, and stitch markers will be available in limited quantities, and bringing personal supplies is encouraged to make learning and practice more comfortable. For this session, any yarn weight can be used, with size 4 medium suggested, and any needle size is fine, with size 8, 10 inch needles suggested. Future sessions will cover the two main knitting stitches, reading knitting patterns, knitting in the round, and time to work on personal projects, with dates to be announced.
