🗓 Saturday, 25 July 2026🕐 5:00 PM ISTCultural Center
📍 Lalbaug, Girangaon — Lalbaugcha Raja, Ganesh Galli, Lalbaug, Mumbai
A deep-dive walking exploration into the raw history of Lalbaug and Girangaon — the "village of mills" that shaped Mumbai's political and cultural backbone for over a century. Led by Janhavi Samant, primary researcher for the book One Hundred Years, One Hundred Voices: The Millworkers of Girangaon, the walk traces the rise of labor unions, the cultural heartbeat of the chawls, and the turbulent 1970s–80s — from union gang wars to Tejookaya Chawl, Chiwda Lane, Ganesh Galli and Garamkhada (Lalbaugcha Raja). Hosted by Hallu Hallu.
